Function description maritime vacancy High Voltage Control Engineer

We are looking for a High Voltage Control Engineer who will be in charge of all the high voltage operations related to the Borssele 1 & 2 wind farm. You will be responsible for the safe operation and control of the high voltage assets, ensuring continued supply of renewable energy from wind farm. This responsibility includes high voltage switchgear and submarine cables (array cables).  

You’ll be part of Site Support Team where you, together with your colleagues, will ensure that the Borssele Operations team is supported in the effective operation and maintenance of the offshore wind farm providing high voltage support. The Site Support team aims to be the local function that will keep the Operations team focused on maintaining a supply of renewable energy by providing effective support to all members.  Besides, this is a hybrid role, which means that you will partially be working in the field but also will have a desk-role. You will be working more onshore than offshore.

We have listed an overview of main responsibilities below.

  • Preperation of maintenance campaigns;
  • Improvement and alignment of global HV processes;
  • Being responsible for the general safety on HV;
  • Overseeing the maintenance and operation of the high voltage assets which include switchgear, export, and array cables;
  • Having installation responsibility for the high voltage and low voltage assets, including ensuring compliance and safe operation of assets by the high voltage team;
  • Leading the high voltage service team of high voltage technicians who will cover all high and low-voltage maintenance work, both scheduled and unscheduled as required, within the wind farm. 

Function demands maritime vacancy High Voltage Control Engineer

For this position we are looking for someone who:  
  • Has a background in Electrical Engineering;
  • Has a minimum switching authority of 33 kV;
  • Comes from a similar industry;
  • Is a strong communicator, is structured and always has a plan;
  • Is decisive;
  • Is fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in written form.
