Function description maritime vacancy Control Room Technician

The Control Room Technician is responsible for conducting operator duties on the company's Treatment Center and monitors VOGN gas production locations and (un)manned Treating Centers in a safe, healthy and responsible matter. The Control Room Technician conducts duties on individual basis and also acts and Operations Responsible Persons (ORP) when work in conducted on HTC by contractors and subcontractors.

The Role, Tasks and Responsibilities of the Control Room Technician are to be split the following parts.

1. HSE:
o Be a visible and engaged HSE example for colleague workers, contractors and subcontractors
o Attend HSE worksite meetings
o Act as VOGN ears and eyes on Vermilion locations
o Report observed risks and incidents and events as per VOGN procedures.
o Conduct regular HSE site visits
o Participate in ERP exercises as On site commander
o Provide inductions and HSE guidance to contractors working on VOGN premises
o Conduct the role of Operational Responsible Person for i.e. Work permits
o Conduct the role of Radiation Protection Supervisor (if applicable)

2. Regulatory Compliance:
o Understand compliance requirements from regulatory/ permitting and VOGN policy perspective
o Actively participate in VOGN Competency Development Management System
o Responsible to conduct the operation duties within the ‘Time at Work’ policy envelope


3. Operating Procedures:
o Understand and underwrite the VOGN operating policies and procedures in place
o Understand the necessary policies and procedures to conduct their job

4. Maintenance:
o Conduct First Degree Maintenance (FDM) if so required
o Responsible to feed the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Eam/ Infor) with work request (notifications) for observed malfunctions/ break downs
o Responsible for production vehicle, tools and equipment provided by VOGN

5. Production:
o Operate HTC, the remote locations (by DCS) and (un)manned Treatment Center(by DCS) within its operating envelope, within the work alone policy
o Operate and test run all Emergency and backup systems HTC within the work alone policy
o Start-up and Shutdown all VOGN production locations and (un)manned TC’s within its operating envelope by using DCS
o Report operations related highlights to the operations group by using the electronic logbook (PDW)
o Record and report operating parameters
o Conduct operations duties in fix work schedule in the Control Room schedule
o Monitor and manage daily and hourly production rates as per provided guidelines
o Report production interruptions to Gas Unie
o Report daily production metrics including production interruptions internally
o Record and report production related matters such as but not limited to production flow, condensate production, water production, water trucking, water injection volumes, etc.


6. Other:
o As identified by Field Intervention Supervisor

Function demands maritime vacancy Control Room Technician

  • Professional technical level MBO
  • Between 1 to 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in Oil and Gas industry
  • Fluent in and Dutch and basic level in English
